Chinese massage is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, using pressure with the hands forearms or elbows.
It moves sluggish circulation of the blood and lymph, relaxation of muscles, relief from pain and restoration of metabolic balance and addresses psychological and physiological problems.
The Principles of Therapeutic massage is the understanding of the theories of Yin and Yang, Five elements, Yin and Yang organs, meridians, nutrition, defence energy and blood systems.
The keystone to a long and harmonious life, is appropriate exercise, meditation, adequate rest and moderation in all things, plus regular bodywork, creating an uninterrupted flow of Qi energy, as it pulses through the organs and meridians of the body.
Preparation
This form of therapy is very relaxing and you are fully clothed.
Make sure you wear loose clothing.
During the session the abdomen back legs and arms will be palpated to check for soft or hard areas and if there are temperature changes around the body e.g. cold or hot spots.
Please arrive five minutes earlier to fill in the form regarding your personal details and present or past physical emotional or mental conditions.
Please let Suzannah know if you are on medications or have had surgeries recently.
You will also be asked to sign a consent form for any area where you do not wish to be touched or massaged.
After the Session
Make sure you HYDRATE with water afterwards to help integrate the healing.
The treatment keeps working over the next few days.
